Many of us have fitness goals. The strange thing is we rarely achieve them. Does that sound familiar? How do we set a plan to move forward so that we can drop that extra weight, lose those extra inches, or just fit back into that pair of pants before the big event? Here a few simple tips that may help you get over that hump and help you start to realize those goals you’ve wanted for so long.
Most importantly, set a plan. With the right plan in place, the weight and/or extra inches lost is simply a by-product of what you do. Does that make sense? Your plan has to be actionable and measurable in order to be attainable. Keep things simple at first. Baby steps. Then go from there.
What if you don’t know how to set a plan? Well, as always, ask a professional. No, not your Uncle Jimmy who used to work out a long time ago when he was in college and remembers that he bench pressed 6000 pounds while walking home barefoot in a snowstorm. I’m talking about a certified personal training professional (ACE, AFFA, etc). At Ki Fitness we have certified personal trainers available that can speak with you and help you set your plan and get you moving on the right track. Remember, trainers are for all levels.
In addition, be realistic with your expectations. Good things take time. Work on changes that will improve your lifestyle. If your goal is to lose 10 pounds in a week, I can guarantee that is not a lifestyle change. If your goal is to lose a pound a week and keep it off, that could be a lifestyle change. You want long term results. Set your plan today and get busy. Ki Fitness is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year. We’re helping you by taking the “time” factor out of your excuse pool. We look forward to sharing in your success.
If you have any questions about our facility, personal training, or just need a nudge, please email me. I’m looking forward to hearing from you.
Yours in health,
Shawn Flanagan
