Many martial arts were developed to achieve specific purposes.
We have used our 20+ years of martial arts experience to create a practical self defense curriculum for youth and teens. Self defense can play out in many different ways and environments. Learning the karate international system will help students deal with all types of self defense situations and scenarios.
We believe in mastery and application of principles and skills from carefully selected martial arts approaches, including:
We emphasize integrity in all aspects of life. No Karate International student should believe that they can behave one way in our center, and that they can drop their standards at home or at school. Our program emphasizes integration of all areas of their lives, and requires that students put forth their best efforts and become their best selves in all areas of life.
We use black belt excellence as a metaphor for personal excellence.
We are committed to continual improvement of our instructors and our program. We continue to enhance our program to optimize workouts and increase effectiveness of class time, whether it be mental exercises, drills, safety tips, and a realistic approach to self-defense situations.
All instructors at karate international are also students of the martial arts and fitness, constantly seeking personal improvement.
This is not a program that automatically “passes” everyone in each class. It is expected that students actually learn the requirements, and that through hard work and perseverance they will build confidence and a solid work ethic as they advance through the ranks. We Build Confidence Through Achievement -- and the classroom environment is conducive to establishing positive friendships, fostering self-discipline, self-confidence, and self-respect."
We honor Martial Arts traditions that go back centuries, but we incorporate the new and dynamic methods that continue to evolve from new practitioners. Instructor and KIMAC Founder, John English, is constantly seeking new and innovative ways to improve our students and challenge them to achieve a higher standard. He has trained with some of the world's most respected Martial Arts Instructors and continues to pass on the lessons he learned to his students today. These instructors include Soke Michael DePasquale, Sr., Soke Michael DePasquale, Jr., Professor Silverio P. Guerra, Adam "Barnone" Guerra, Shihan Rocky Dirico and Icat founders Walt Lysak, Jr. & Richard Ryan.
To build strength, honor, and courage within ourselves and one another; to promote a strong and peaceful community through friendship, cooperation and leadership; to never misuse our knowledge or fight to achieve selfish ends, but to develop might for right.
